Quest Giver/Turn-in: Keristrasza (summoned via Augmented Arcane Prison)

Objective: Use the Arcane Power Focus to lure Saragosa, then defeat her. Collect Saragosa’s Corpse.

Walkthrough

Step 1: Get Teleported to the Platform

1. Use your Augmented Arcane Prison to summon Keristrasza
2. Talk to her and select “I am ready to face Saragosa”
3. She will teleport you to a floating platform high above Coldarra (approximately [22, 22])

Step 2: Summon and Defeat Saragosa

1. On the platform, use the Arcane Power Focus (a glowing crystal item in your bags)
2. Saragosa lands as a Level 73 Elite dragon, but immediately transforms into her human form (Level 73 normal mob)
3. In human form, she’s an easy fight, casting Frostfire Bolts for modest damage
4. Kill her and loot Saragosa’s Corpse

Step 3: Turn In and Return

1. Use the Augmented Arcane Prison again to summon Keristrasza on the platform
2. Turn in the quest to her
3. Accept the follow-up quest Mustering the Reds
4. Talk to Keristrasza one more time and select the option to teleport back to the Transitus Shield

Tips

• Don’t Be Mounted or Shapeshifted: Druids in any form (Moonkin, Bear, Cat, Tree), Priests in Shadow Form, or anyone on a mount may fail to be teleported. Return to your normal caster/base form first.
• Stay Close to Keristrasza: Stand very close to her when she casts the teleport. If you’re too far away, the teleport fails and she vanishes.
• The Focus Looks Like Greater Mystic Essence: The Arcane Power Focus shares its icon with Greater Mystic Essence. If you’re an Enchanter, check carefully before using the wrong item.
• Don’t Die Up There: There is no way to reach your corpse on the platform. If you die, you must use the spirit healer (with the 10-minute resurrection sickness and repair costs) or use the “I’m Stuck” option in the Help menu. Complete this quest before engaging in PvP if on a contested server.
• If Teleport Bugs: Some have reported that teleportation fails within the Transitus Shield. Try summoning Keristrasza outside the bubble, in open Coldarra, if you have trouble.

Story Context

Keristrasza (quest text): “Using the mana crystals you provided, I have created this Power Focus. Saragosa is a glutton. She will be unable to resist its lure. Inside it lie magics that will greatly diminish her power. Let us hope she does not see through my ruse…”

Completion: “This world is a better place now that Saragosa is no more, but our work is not yet finished. The time has come to strike at Malygos himself!”

The Power Focus created from the Crystallized Mana is an irresistible lure for Saragosa, but it’s also a trap. Hidden within the focus are magics that strip away her power, which is why the fearsome prime consort of an Aspect transforms from a deadly elite dragon into a vulnerable humanoid the moment she takes the bait.

Lore: The Prime Consort Falls

Saragosa was Malygos’s mate for over ten thousand years. She survived when Deathwing used the Demon Soul to slaughter most of the blue dragonflight during the War of the Ancients. In the Nexus War era, she served as both guardian of the Nexus and supervisor of the blue flight’s war operations.

Keristrasza suffered greatly during her captivity, and much of that suffering came at Saragosa’s hands. By killing Malygos’s consort, Keristrasza strikes at the heart of what he holds dear.

Enraged by Saragosa’s death, Malygos will capture Keristrasza and force her to take Saragosa’s place as his consort. He will torture her, brand her with arcane runes, and break her mind. The rescue mission that began with freeing Keristrasza from prison will end with killing her in The Nexus to end her suffering.
